WIPR − World Intellectual Property Review – has listed the founder of Kaulo & Partners, Jani Kaulo, among the world’s leading IP lawyers for 2023.
The Global IP Leader recognition signifies exceptional dedication and broad expertise and leadership in the field of intellectual property rights (IPR).
Jani Kaulo considers the Global IP Leader recognition to be meaningful also in respect of the current politically polarized world situation.
"IPR industry is inherently very international and relies on confidential collaboration across geographical borders with colleagues from different countries. The pursuit of community spirit and good cooperation stands in contrast to the current atmosphere of polarization, where various political interests foster confrontation," says Jani Kaulo.
"The role of leading IP practitioners is also to strive for harmonizing legislation and practices and to promote the development of the industry in favour of the holders of IP rights. Despite conflicts of interest, IP leaders can contribute to minimizing the barriers to international trade."
What is WIPR Leaders?
WIPR Leaders is a one-stop guide to the leading IP practitioners in the world. The handbook lists over 2,500 lawyers across patent, trademark, and copyright practices. Following an extensive nomination period, the WIPR research team vetted the nominated lawyers for suitability by exploring their work. This meant looking at practice history, industry expertise and notable cases, as well as any additional activities, such as writing and teaching responsibilities, which have allowed the lawyers to shape and influence other and future IP practitioners.
