The innovativeness and the nomination of Kaulo & Partners, established in August 2021, as one of the finalists to receive the IP Innovation Award is grounded as follows:
“Kaulo & Partners is Finland's first and only law firm that focuses exclusively on the protection, enforcement, and commercial exploitation of brand rights, as well as the proactive prevention of IP related problems through strategic legal advice.
The company has introduced a new approach to IP legal services, according to which all practical measures with partner clients are based on a brand rights strategy that has been developed in the first place before any actions, thus enabling an effective way to manage and increase the value of brand rights in the long term.
A large number of Finnish companies do not manage their brand rights comprehensively, proactively and systematically. With this strategic and proactive service model, Kaulo & Partners is changing the typical way of Finnish SMEs to manage their brand rights as single and separate measures, without linking them to the company’s business strategy.

The winner of the IP Innovation Award will be published at the annual IPR Gala organized by the IPR University Center on May 20, 2022 at Katajanokan Kasino in Helsinki.
The IPR Gala has become an annual tradition and a significant event in the IP industry in Finland, celebrating intellectual property rights, experts and successes, and announcing the winner of the IP Innovation Award of the year.
The earlier winners of the Award are The Finnish IPR Assistants' Association (2019), IPRally & the AI-based patent search software (2018), Berggren & the GREIP service (2017), Aalto University & Finnish PTO with their pilot project related to electronic filing of a provisional patent application (2016) and Finnish Fashion Law Association (2015).
